Onion Rings

A good tea- time snack.

Onion Rings


all-purpose flour/maida – 1/4 cup
milk – 1 tablespoon
egg – 1
oil – 1 teaspoon + oil for frying
salt – to taste
onion – 1 (large) sliced 1/4 inch thick and separated into rings


Step 1    For batter, in a medium mixing bowl combine flour,milk,egg,oil and salt.   Using a rotary beater,
beat just till smooth.

Step 2     In a skillet heat oil. Using a fork, dip onion rings into batter,drain off excess batter. Fry onion rings, a few at a time for 2-3 minutes or till golden, stirring once or twice with a fork to separate rings.
Remove from oil, drain on paper towels.
