Fish Molee


Fish (Pearlspot/karimeen) – 1 lbs
onion,sliced -2
green chilly, cut fine – 6
ginger, cut fine – 1 inch piece
garlic, cut fine – 4 clove
curry leaves – 1 sprig
corriander powder – 1 tsp
cumin powder – 1/4 tsp
turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
pepper pod- 1/2 tsp
coconut milk – 1 cup
oil – 2 tbsp
tomato,sliced – 2
salt- as required


Heat oil in a flat pan with a lid. Fry the sliced ingredients light brown.
Add the powders and fry on low heat for 5 minutes. Next, place the fish in a single layer in the center . Pull the paste over the fish and pour the coconut milk . Cover and cook for 10 minutes; give an occasional gentle shake to the pan. Place thick slices of tomato; simmer and remove.
Can be served with appam or bread.
