Scrambled Egg Curry

When the sun sets, I start thinking of what I have to serve as curry for the nights chapati and I start searching in Google or in the recipe books I have. I know many are there like me who search for “side dishes for chapati”. This time i ended in one of the recipes i found in the Vanitha Magazine. A simple but delicious curry I should say.

Scrambled egg curry


1. oil-2 tbsp
2. onion,cut finely- 1/2 cup
tomato,finely cut – 1
green chilly,cut length- wise – 3
curry leaves – a sprig
3. red chilly powder – 1/2 tsp
garam masala – 1/4 tsp
pepper powder – 1/4 tsp
turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
salt – as required
4. egg- 2
5. coconut milk – 1 1/4 cup
6. cilantro/malliyila -2 tbsp


Step 1  Heat oil in a pan and put in the ingredients mentioned in no.2 .


Step 2  When the onion turns golden brown in color put in the powders mentioned in no.3 and stir for a minute or two.


Step 3  Add the eggs  and scramble it well.


Step 4  Once the egg has been cooked, pour in the coconut milk and wait for a minute or two.


Step 5  Garnish it with cilantro leaves.  Serve hot .
