Pappada Thoran


Pappadam is a thin, crisp Indian preparation.Pappadams are usually served as an accompaniment to a meal in India. It is also eaten as an appetizer or a snack and can be eaten with various toppings such as chopped onions, chutney or other dips and condiments.It is also used as a side in having payasams/kheer.Here i share a thoran made of Pappadam.

Ingredients

pappadam -8
oil- 1/4 cup (for frying the pappadams)
oil-2 tsp for making thoran
mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
curry leaves- a few
shallots,sliced-4
coconut,scrapped-1/2 cup
salt -to taste
dry red chilly-3 nos.
red chilly powder-1/2 tsp (optional)

Method

Fry the pappadams,crush it and keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan.Splutter the mustard seeds.Add cuury leaves,chopped shallots,dry red chillies,coconut and fry it for a minute or two.Add chilly powder,fry for another minute.
Finally, to this add the crushed pappadams.
