Kadala / Chickpea Curry


Kadala Curry goes well with Rice as well as Puttu.This dish can be made with Coconut and without it.

Ingredients

Kadala/Chickpea-1 cup (good if it is soaked the night before its cooked)
shallots-3
garlic-10
red chilly powder-1tsp
corriander powder-3 tsp
garam masala-1 tsp
turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
oil-3 tsp
water -to boil the chickpea

Method

Wash the Chickpea and get it cooked in the pressure cooker with water standing little above the level of Chickpea.After 1 whistle put the stove in sim for another 15 mins.,so that the Chickpea becomes soft.Keep it aside ready.

Next,in a pan heat oil.Put in the smashed garlic and shallots and saute for 3 mins.Then put in all the powders and saute for another 3-4 mins.

Put in the boiled Chickpea and saute for 4-5 mins.
